GWS etablishes position in new market segment, humanitarian aid organisations, with orders from Erikshjälpen and Danish Refugee Council (DRC)

GWS Production AB (GWS) has recently signed orders with both Erikshjälpen and Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and is establishing a footprint in the humanitarian aid sector as a supplier of safety solutions to field personell. A key concern for international aid agencies is supplying aid to remote areas while ensuring the security of both aid workers and beneficiaries.
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organisation that works in more than 30 countries, primarily in conflict areas, throughout the world. ERIKS Development Partner (Erikshjälpen) is a child rights organisation working in more than 25 countries. Both Erikshjälpen and Danish Refugee Council (DRC) have independently decided to use GWS Safeture Business Solution service, which includes the Safeture Pro app and Instant Security Overview (ISO) to protect it´s field workers. Safeture is a personal mobile-based safety service that provides users with information and updates in real time about events that may affect the person’s travel plans and safety. ISO provides the company’s head of security with a constant overview of the company’s personnel, who can easily get in touch if an emergency should arise.
The order value of the agreements are currently not significant, but is expected to grow in the coming years.

”We believe that Safeture Pro will be a great tool in supporting our goal of ensuring an element of safety and mitigating risk for our employees. The service fulfills the need to get quick, relevant and reliable security related information to DRC field staff and I am very impressed with how fast the information becomes available,  a very promising service that I hope to further roll out to out globally in DRC over the next years” says Fredrik Pålsson, Head of Safety, Danish Refugee Council.

“We hope that this modern and practical tool can be of great assistance in our ambition to work with preventive risk and safety for our traveling employees in Erikshjälpen , says Lars-Åke Winberg , Director of Administration & Security Officer, Erikshjälpen.

“The staff of humanitarian organizations often find themselves in very dangerous areas and there is a great interest and need for our solution in this business segment. We want to support their important work and have therefore created a special pricing for non-profit relief organizations to reduce the threshold of purchase. It is therefore particularly gratifying to announce these two orders which we believe will open up this market for us. If aid workers can feel more secure in the field they have better conditions to carry out their important work, “said Andrew Rodman, CEO, GWS Production AB.

About DRC
Danish Refugee Council  work in more than 35 countries providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations –in some of the most difficult areas in the world. The nature of our work means that we often provide assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in areas affected by high levels of conflict and hazards where we need to be vigilant and follow the ever changing security situation to protect our staff and beneficiaries. DRC staff are vulnerable to a wide array of threats, ranging from acts of intentional violence to natural disasters, the risks of which can be considerably higher in conflict and post-conflict settings due to the lack of infrastructure, appropriate medical care and other similar factors.
